about

The lyrics of the Psalms capture the full scope of human emotion and experience. They help us express heights of joy and to process depths of despair. This project is our attempt to explore some of the "darker Psalms." These Psalms are formally known as the Lament (Sorrowful and Grieving) and Imprecatory (Call for Justice) Psalms.

Why these Psalms??

There's an abundance of songs written today that help us express our Joy in Christ, but sometimes we overlook the fact that the Spirit-filled life is sometimes one of battle, injustice, struggle, pain, deep heartache, doubt, and suffering.

Let these Psalms affirm your feelings of struggle, but not leave you at home in them. May these lyrics lift you up to see the ascended Jesus. His victorious enthronement has defeated all things dark and despairing!
